Ballerina Bash

Anytime I have a chance to do an fun, creative event - I am all over it! My children's birthday parties are just that for me - fun, creative, and custom to what they like that particular year.

My daughter says that when she grows up she wants to be a ballerina & Dora the Explorer, so I decided to throw her a ballerina bash & it turned out fabulous in her mind & that is all that matters to me.

For the food & drinks everything was pink & purple (her two favorite colors) of course. Consisting of Kool-Aid cookies, cupcakes, a ballerina cake, marshmallows dipped in frosting & covered in sprinkles, pink bubble gum, and of course "pink" hot dogs and much more.

For drinks we had a beautiful pink punch & also strawberry milk available & you can choose either mason jars or pink cups to drink from.

Decorations consisted of me hand sewing a lot of tutu's. We had dolls for each little girl to play with that all needed tutu's plus multiple tutu's around for extra decorations. I made a tutu wreath, a paper ballerina banner type decoration, had a pair of ballerina shoes & a few pink ballerina outfits around with the tables covered in - you guessed it pink table cloths :)

Besides all the girls playing ballerina with their dolls we also had them make them own edible necklaces. We used twizzlers pull & peel as the necklace with many goodies to adorn the necklaces with like fruit loops, yogurt covered pretzels, cheerios, apple jacks, fruity life savers & another circle graham cracker cookie. I forgot to get a picture of the girls making their necklaces, but here my daughter is getting the station ready before everyone arrives.

Always like to give out favors with my children's parties so for this party it was only appropriate that we gave each girl a homemade tutu, nail polish, chap stick & a cute hair tie. They were soooo cute & fit the theme perfectly!

Hope you enjoyed our ballerina bash. Dance like no one is watching.

DIY Easy Paper Flowers

Our fabric Backdrop is something that we put up at just about every single wedding that we do, all the brides want it. Most fabric backdrops are pipe & drape backdrops with curtains that slide onto the pipe frame, but ours is completely custom & truly different every single time. Forever Fresh's backdrop is two pieces of fabric that we work to make sure you get the beautiful draping, swagging, swooping & one-of-a-kind custom look that we offer to each bride. So we are  continuously crafting up new ways to make each backdrop different for each bride - and this time I made these paper flowers to cascade down the backdrop & they were fabulous & perfect for this wedding! This particular wedding was a garden theme wedding with ombre of purple flowers filling the room, so it felt only suiting to have the paper flowers incorporated into the backdrop.

The Smell of Summer

As I prepare for a purple, garden theme inspiration wedding this weekend I am blessed to be able to walk out my front door & use my yard as inspiration. I walk out my front door and see rows or gorgeous purple & white lilacs all in bloom right now filling the air with a sweet, heavenly smell that makes me think of summer, relaxation,&  beauty. It is very rare that we have these "perfect" types of nights around here where it is about 62 degrees, the sun is starting to set, there is no wind or breeze, the aroma of the lilacs fill the air & the birds are chirping away. Here's to my inspiration - check back or subscribe to keep informed about how I translated this inspiration into a wedding reception decor. Happy Week ya all!

Always remember to stop & smell the flowers!!!

Today a lot of brides are going green. They like things Eco-friendly,  & love to use all hues of green. Emerald green is rich & lush, with mint green being soft & romantic, let's not forget bout lime green for the fun & flirtacious. One green trend that we have been seeing a lot of lately is the use of succulents, they used to be thought of as just country feeling, but you can make them fit into any feel you are going for with your wedding depending on how you use them. Take a look at some of these very creative, modern, elegant & fun ideas to do with succulents.

Up Lighting

In our area up lights is a modern way of completely transforming our old(er) hotel venues which we mainly have around here into something fabulous & breath-taking! Up lighting is also great to use with fabric like behind backdrops to really illuminate the light. Our up lights are LED up lights which means they are made up of lots of tiny small red, blue & green LED bulbs which gives us the option to make a whole array of colors to create for you, they last so much longer, & they stay cool to the touch.

Brooch bouquets

The brooch bouquet  is one of the newest, hottest trends for brides' bouquets these days. They are so versatile & fit into so many themes for weddings, whether you are a bride that likes her bling, wants to honor the vintage style, or maybe just doesn't prefer to have flowers for her bouquet, then you will love this option.

Let me tell you from a girl that truly LOVES her bling & sparkle that there are many amazing reasons to carry a brooch bouquet: they are a great keepsake of your wedding day, they can include some of your own familys' brooches & jewelry, they sparkle, you can make them or have them made well in advance to your wedding day, you never have to worry about them wilting or turning brown for pictures, & did I mention they sparkle :)

Here are some pictures of brooch bouquets we have made. Now these are NOT full out brooch bouquets where rather they give a nod to the brooch bouquets.

And just for fun, sparkle & to admire here are some full out brooch bouquet pictures that we adore
